I could afford to smile now, as i am not in acute pain from it, but what choice do i really have? It's as though my spine were a zipper and someone is pulling that zipper apart from the bottom up. When i shared this image with the orthopedist who treated me last year, he said "That isn't as if, that IS what's happening." We both laughed and on I went. So THIS very body is MY very body, and if this very body is the buddha, I am glad he has a good orthopedist!mountainlighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12139012408136765444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617743654624331674.post-61811866531483683282009-11-01T21:46:08.698-08:002009-11-01T21:46:08.698-08:00I see a long scar healing quickly now where I ripp...I see a long scar healing quickly now where I ripped it open somewhat last week teaching my daughter the incorrect way to use a tool (screwdriver to widen a crushed zipper skitting over my left palm), almost looks like I gave myself another lifeline. Can't help moving the fingers like I'm looking at a robot hand which however is beautiful and intimate yet almost seems to have a mind of it's own.

Heros, yep, they are a bit distant and mostly passed, one at least is alive and very oddly accessible. One of my current favorite archetypal heros are those mysterious and endless hands and eyes of the bodhisattva of compassion.

Hard to relate to the historic Buddha, though the flower twirling sometimes feels reassuringly familiar (I usually get a bit lost or hung up in a lot of the words). I frequently see what I perceive to be buddha-like properties in others esp when they are at their most matter of fact, probably very little separation between intention and action, the young (she brought candy for a kid who couldn't go trick or treating) and the older (he said 'it's one of the sane's jobs to look after the crazy in a company') and many others in between even those white ties around some of the trees and other objects in Japan.

Moonlight guitar playing ... hmm, well, perhaps trying to perceive and keep to the middle lines, so that the note is produced continually and I'm able to do my best to assist the people and things I connect with to play the notes they need too. The hands and eyes are absolutely everywhere and, shockingly enough, I'm one of them ...fuyuashahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06413779535029699779noreply@blogger.com
